Aaliyah – the movie

I’ve just found out that Bill Condon, the director of Dreamgirls, will work on a biographic movie about Aaliyah this year. I had never heard even of the idea of the movie before, so this is a nice surprise to me.

I bet you wonder who is gonna play the leading role…

Her name is Keshia Chanté and she’s a twenty-year-old (gosh, she’s a week younger than me…) singer. I’ve never heard of her before – I guess this role will be a breakthrough in her career. Keshia’s singing isn’t anything special, but in the video that I posted below she reminds of Aaliyah sometimes (for example: 0:17), so she seems to be a good choice. Check it out:
