I bet everone is stuffed already, but here comes one more delicious goodie! I hope you remember Jessica 6 – they released their first music video for ‘Fun Girl’ on Christmas Eve. They debut album will be released in spring, but so far you can get their single for free here.

One of these days I found quite a random song that my best friend send me ages ago. I know nothing about Shawn Lee – I know only this song. ‘Happiness’ was playing in my room in a loop for twenty minutes and while it was on, I was singing along and dancing. Good times!

Just a little poor excuse for not writing for such a long time: studying! I enjoy it, though. The Video Production module especially! I still have loads to do as I’m working with my group on press conference that will take place in a week and a half, so I’m here just to post a couple of new music videos you may enjoy. I have quite a few drafts of nice posts (at least I find them interesting), but I can’t find time to finish them… Hopefully, I will find some time just after I’m done with this conference. No worries, this blog is here to stay!

Have Jaxxes ever made a poor music video? If they did, I must have missed it – let me know about it, please. I absolutely love this one, it’s so cosy! Simple, colourful, and engrossing. And funny – maybe not in a way that you burst with laughter, but I’m sure you’ll smile a bit (at least inside) while watching it.

Keep an eye on Tomek Ducki who directed that music video, he’s a really talented guy. His videos on his vimeo profile are worth looking at, just give it a shot – click here (I highly recommend ‘Life Line – Életvonal’ – a short movie with touching story and great visuals).

Finally, the song. Brilliant. That’s why I love Basement Jaxx: there is something special about each and every of their songs. No exception here. Irresistably catchy melody, killer beat, and most importantly – soul. Perfection.

Who’d have known

Lily and Greg Kurstin created an amazing album this year, here’s just another single to prove that. Good concept for a music video; I really liked it, even though not much was happening in there.
I  hope Lily wasn’t serious about quitting the music industry! Who’d be voice of our generation then?

I really like glamorous music videos, arty music videos, alternative music videos, weird music videos, music videos with a concept, music videos with a story, and sometimes amateur music videos happen to be quite good too.

Peaches‘ music video for ‘Lose you’ (directed by herself!) combines all of these categories somehow, thus, it’s a really good music video.

PS. The song rocks too, like the whole I Feel Cream album on which she worked with Simian Mobile Disco, Gonzales and Soulwax – actually, that’s why it’s so good.

PS2. Here’s a music video for a new single from the album. Not as good as the previous one, but not a bad one. Song is super cool, though. Reminds me of Madonna’s ‘Get Together’.

Here’s Madonna’s video for ‘Celebration’ – at last! It isn’t a great one, but it isn’t weak too. Just a little bit more than average, I would say. I’m afraid that Madonna has finished the era of stunning music videos with ‘American Life’ (uncensored version, obviously) and ‘Hung Up’. But we never know, she may surprise us all! Not this time, though. One thing is for sure – she looks absolutely amazing! By the way, can you spot her daughter in the video?

Oh, and a little announcement here – sorry for writing from time to time only – it’s summertime and I’m back home, you know, lots to do! I suppose I’d get back to posting stuff on regular basis again by the end of September. Until then it may be quite slow in here. Hope you all won’t forget about my blog by that time!

Hi there, I’ve just returned from a little summer trip. Trying to keep up with the most important news – check out Imogen Heap’s music video for ‘First Train Home.’ It’s not good, very amateurish, so no surprise that Immi, the perfectionist, is working on the alternative version of the video that she is going to direct herself. Can’t wait to see the result! So far, have a look at the official video for now – as I said it’s rather poor, but Imogen looks amazing, as usual!

Simian Mobile Disco

Guys from Simian Mobile Disco are about to return with their second album Temporary Pleasure (to be released on 17th August). Amongst the others, there are guest appearances from Beth Ditto (Gossip), Jamie Lidell, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Chris Keating (Yeasayer) and Telepathe. This list makes me pretty much curious about the album.

Music video for the first single ‘Audacity of Huge’ featuring Chris Keating is realised within a really nice visual concept, have a look below (the only thing that makes me uncomfortable are honey drops – my imagination works and I already feel sticky, ugh!):

White Lies + Crystal Castles

I don’t like White Lies. I’m not a fan of Crystal Castles. But I blinkin’ love the music video for the song below, and the song – ‘Death’ – itself! Can you imagine?
The remixed video has an incredible sense of drama and mystery, and together with the Crystal Castles’ remix of White Lies’ song it creates a perfect audiovisual combination.
The original music video was directed by Andreas Nilsson and I guess he is responsible for the remixed version as well.
