Sex and the City

Sex and the CityI have just seen Sex and the City (the movie). Spending two hours in that world was just… fabulous! I watched all series for the first time in January – you can imagine how great it was.
Even though I absolutely adore the series and I consider it as a pop cultural milestone of a new Millenium, I am not going to praise it here – it is a blog about music, so I’d just better stick to the music.

There was plenty of songs in the movie; actually, they were quite nice but none of them really stayed in my head after the end titles.
In the series, you can hardly hear any songs but if they are used – they are used cleverly. It comes as no surprise that the one you can hear in the final scenes of the very last episode of the series will be probably looped in your playlist many times – that happened in my case.

‘You Got The Love’ is performed by The Source featuring Candi Staton, and the version used in Sex and the City series finale is a remix by New Voyager. Sounding a bit like Groove Armada, this lofty song will presumably always remind me of Carrie’s words:

…the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous

You can listen to the song below:
